Carving Tips
Tools:
Getting your carving to look just right is going to require that you use the proper tools. You can pick up the right utensils at just about any store if you’re looking around the Halloween season. They usually come as a pack and will most often include one or two saws for carving, a poker to transfer patterns, and some sort of scoop to help you clean out the inside of your pumpkin.
Once you have those basic instruments you can also get a utility knife such as an X-Acto. These can be very useful for a number of tasks such as poking through the pattern to transfer it or to scrape off the outer layer of skin from the pumpkin to reveal mid-tones.
