Carving Tips
Lighting:
All of your hard work finally culminates with this: the lighting ceremony. But this isn’t some trifle like the torch at the Olympics. No, this is important so you better get it right.
If you’re using an artificial pumpkin then you should never use an open flame as your source of illumination. Even if you’re not, a battery-powered or plug-in light may be preferable because they tend to be brighter than your standard candle.
Keep in mind that a real pumpkin has juices that could potentially leak into an electric light and become a fire hazard. Be careful not to allow your lighting to get wet. Also, keep the wattage on your bulb low enough so that it doesn’t generate too much heat within your pumpkin.
